Esomeprazole and Levosulpride softgel capsule | Esracid-LS

Esracid-LS is a medication made with two drugs Esomeprazole and Levosulpride. This medicine is available in soft gel capsule form. This medicine is used to treat stomach-related problems like gastroesophageal reflux disease and peptic ulcer disease. The combination of Esomeprazole and Levosulpride is a very effective treatment to treat these issues.

Levosulpiride, a prokinetic, helps improve digestion by increasing the release of acetylcholine, a chemical messenger in the body. This leads to increased movement in the stomach and intestines, preventing the backward flow of acid into the food pipe, known as reflux.

Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces the production of stomach acid. By doing so, it helps relieve symptoms of acid-related indigestion and ulcers. Essentially, esomeprazole works by decreasing the amount of acid in the stomach, promoting a more balanced and comfortable digestive environment.

How to use Esomeprazole and Levosulpride softgel capsule

  1. Take the capsule with a full glass (8 ounces) of water.
  2. The capsule should be taken at least one hour before a meal.
  3. Swallow the capsule whole and do not crush, chew, break, or open it, unless specifically instructed otherwise by your doctor or pharmacist.
  4. If you have difficulty swallowing the capsule, you may be able to open it and sprinkle the contents onto a spoonful of pudding or applesauce, as long as this is permitted by the specific medication instructions. Swallow the mixture immediately without chewing. Do not save it for later use.
  5. If you are using a nasogastric (NG) feeding tube, follow the instructions provided with the medication for administration through the tube.
